Lisa Marzano is Professor of Psychology and Co-Director of the Centre for Abuse, Trauma and Suicide Studies (CATS) at Middlesex University, London. She has worked in suicide and self-harm prevention for more than two decades, using interdisciplinary and co-produced methods to narrow the gap between academic evidence, suicide prevention policy and practice, and people’s lived and living experiences of suicide. Her recent work focuses on technology-enabled approaches, suicide and self-harm in online and public spaces, and community-based prevention. This research has informed major awareness campaigns and media guidelines, rail and road safety practices, and the development of local and national real-time suicide surveillance systems in England.
