Karl Andriessen (PhD, MSuicidology, BSW) is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, The University of Melbourne, Australia. He has a broad interest in suicide research with a major focus on suicide bereavement and postvention, including impact of suicide on individuals and communities, barriers and facilitators to help-seeking, and evaluation of service delivery in this field. He has published widely including the go-to volume “Postvention in action: The international handbook on suicide bereavement support” (2017, Hogrefe). Recipient of the IASP Farberow Postvention Award, and Co-Chair of the IASP SIG on Suicide Bereavement and Postvention.
