Diana van Bergen is a Professor in the Department of Education and Pedagogical Sciences at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She is the Principal Investigator of a national consortium on suicide prevention targeting socially vulnerable youth and middle aged men, and leads a research team focused on recovery and intervention in young people, funded by ZonMW. Her work pays particular attention to sexual and gender minority youth and young adults. Current projects include an intervention study on affirmative treatment for gender-diverse youth, a school-based program to promote LGBTQ+ well-being, and a study examining online exposure to suicidal behaviors among LGBTQ+ young people.
